Multi-Week: Insley Smullen teaches Writing with Animals

We're excited to welcome back poet Insley Smullens for another multi-week! Look at nature differently this summer and spend time thinking about animals! 

In this class, we will look at the role of animals in writing across a wide swath of genres/forms: the essay, creative nonfiction, the novel, short stories, poetry, young adult fiction, children’s literature, the graphic novel, and more. 

During each week of this six week course we will examine the relationship between humans and animals in the provided readings, will generate our own writing with animals, and will share, give, and receive feedback on our work, all while interrogating our relationships with the creatures with whom we share this world.

This class is offered live on Zoom for 6 Mondays starting Monday, September 28th at 7pm Eastern . After purchasing access to the class, you will receive a Zoom registration link via the email address you used to make your purchase. This class will be recorded and the link will be available for students for 3 months after the completion of class.
