Just in time for our busy drafting season, this class is perfect for the writer looking for new ways to cultivate story ideas!
Every story starts with an idea, and accumulates new ideas with every sentence. Ideas that span the range from word choice, sentence structure, scene setting, content, dialogue, worldbuilding, all the way to complete character, novel, or series arcs. So, a major part (and one of the signature joys) of writing is cultivating a process for catching, developing, cataloging, and deploying ideas.
This class will demonstrate a range of techniques for foraging and remixing ideas from the wild -- reality or fiction -- and work them into your stories. We will perform idea-foraging exercises from art, film, writing and introduce different ways of cataloging the ideas that come up.
